Bryan Torresdey made jokes about the Edgar haircut, followed them with a video about the broccoli cut, and found a new audience among the people cutting those styles every day. Barbers started following him. GQ reached out. Tab had already laughed at one of his videos before realizing who had made it.

The haircut gives them plenty to work with. They trade observations about trends, the pictures people bring to an appointment, and the strange moment when everyone trying to look like an individual begins asking for the same thing. Bryan explains how a familiar detail becomes material when his comedy brain starts turning it over.

His interest in entertainment began long before those videos. He remembers appearing in a Taco Cabana commercial as a child and wanting to keep working in that world. Born in San Antonio, he later developed his stand-up in Los Angeles, spent time in New York, and returned to Texas with experiences from different comedy scenes. He and Tab compare the storytelling, performance, and joke-writing habits people associate with each city.

Bryan also talks about building an audience online while continuing to perform live. Making videos gives him room to find people who recognize the specific experiences in a joke, including details of Mexican family life that land immediately with some viewers. A comment from someone who has just watched fifty of his videos tells him that connection has happened.

Tab recognizes the growing list of jobs that comes with a creative career. Hairdressers and comedians both find themselves learning to film, edit, write, and promote the work they originally set out to do. Bryan sees possibilities in being able to speak directly to an audience and keep developing that relationship between shows.

Sometimes the people arriving at a show know him first from their phones. They have watched the sketches, shared the jokes, and decided to see him in person. Then they find out he was a stand-up comic before he was making those videos, and get to watch a different part of his work unfold in the room.
