Alex Novicki signed a lease for his own practice in February 2020. A month later, the shutdowns began. When clients started texting to ask what they could do between appointments, he sent back demonstrations. Eventually, he put those answers on Instagram. The account that began as a way to help his existing clients introduced his work to people he had never met.

Known online as @alex_fascia, Alex is a licensed massage therapist whose work focuses on fascia, the connective tissue surrounding and linking structures throughout the body. Tab arrives with questions about neck tension, posture, and why discomfort can keep returning even after someone has tried stretching, massage, or chiropractic care. Alex explains how he approaches those questions, including why he may work beyond the area where a client feels pain.

Their own jobs make the discussion personal. Both spend their days working with their hands and paying attention to someone else's body. Tab shares the habits that have helped him keep cutting hair for nearly 25 years. Alex describes the patterns he notices in clients who tattoo, play music, work at desks, and train. They compare the body mechanics they learned in school with the habits that develop over years of doing the work.

When Tab asks whether phones are making everyone's neck worse, Alex brings stress and overstimulation into the picture. He explains how the nervous system informs his approach to bodywork and why he adjusts the intensity of a session to the person in front of him. These are Alex's observations and methods, discussed alongside Tab's questions and experiences.

They also find common ground in heavy music, tattoos, and the freedom of building a skilled trade into a life of your own. By the time Alex describes his Neck Reset course, the connection to those early client messages is clear. He is still showing people what they can practice for themselves and explaining where hands-on work fits into his approach.

Alex's views and experiences are his own. This episode is informational and is not personal medical advice.
