Ryan Seaman graduated from high school and went straight onto Warped Tour. At eighteen, he was traveling with the Eyeliners and sharing a touring circuit with bands he had grown up listening to. By the following spring, he was ready to move from Utah to Los Angeles and find out where playing drums could take him.

He tells Tab how that summer grew out of a much earlier obsession. His parents noticed him tapping on everything. Watching the Beatles made him want to be Ringo Starr, and lessons gave that energy somewhere to go. Moving around as a kid meant changing schools and finding his place again, while music remained something he could keep building on.

In Los Angeles, Ryan auditioned for Fairview on his first day in town. He spent the next few years playing, writing, and waiting through the uncertain business of trying to move a band forward. An introduction through former managers led him to I Am Ghost, where the work included handing out flyers and CDs outside shows. He remembers the momentum building quickly and the long stretch of touring that followed.

Tab was there for parts of that world, too. They retrace how they met through music and hair, trade stories from California, and remember the friends who kept appearing in different bands and different rooms. Their shared history gives Ryan space to talk about the relationships and everyday decisions behind a career people usually see from the audience.

Ryan has kept playing as bands and circumstances have changed. He speaks candidly about persistence, timing, and the people who connect one opportunity to another. He also describes choosing to stop drinking after a difficult trip to Miami, and how that decision helped him begin setting clearer boundaries in his life.

The friendship in the chair has lasted through many of those changes. They can still remember a show, a haircut, or a night in Los Angeles and pick up a story the other person was there to see. Ryan keeps going out on the road. When their schedules line up, there is another chance to sit down and catch up.
